- First there was Vince, then there was Joe,
- and finally, there was Dom. All born within
- six years, the DiMaggio brothers each
- played in the major leagues for at least 10
- seasons.
-
- Vince, the oldest, was a good fielder and a
- fast runner. But he was never a strong
- hitter. In fact, he once set the record for the
- most strikeouts in a season! Vince played
- for five different teams.
-
- Dom, on the other hand, was a good hitter.
- After 11 big-league years, he had a lifetime
- batting average of .298. He was also a
- great leadoff hitter and a talented outfielder,
- for the Boston Red Sox. His only problem
- as a ballplayer was that he was constantly
- being compared to big brother Joe!
